Description

The SVG (Static Var Generator, also known as STATCOM) operates by connecting a self-commutated bridge circuit in parallel with the power grid through a reactor or transformer. By appropriately adjusting the phase and amplitude of the AC-side output voltage of the bridge circuit, or directly controlling its AC-side current, the SVG can absorb or supply reactive current as required, achieving dynamic reactive power compensation.

Product Features:

  • Faster Response:
    SVG response time: ≤5ms.
The SVG can switch between rated capacitive and inductive reactive power in a very short time, making it suitable for compensating impact loads.

  • Higher Safety:
During operation, the SVG is controlled as a current source, eliminating the possibility of resonance with system impedance, ensuring high safety.

  • Versatile Compensation Functions:
    A single SVG device can:

    • Compensate load reactive power

    • Compensate load harmonics

    • Compensate load imbalance

    • Simultaneously compensate for reactive power, harmonics, and imbalance

  • Extremely Low Harmonic Content:
Uses carrier phase-shifting modulation technology to achieve high-frequency, low-ripple output with minimal current harmonics.

  • Small Footprint:
Uses PWM-based reactive power compensation, eliminating the need for large parallel capacitors, saving space.
